Mauch Makes Top 50...

From the Democratic Party of Arkansas
CYMI: Republican state legislator Loy Mauch Makes Top 50 Worst Politicans List
December 9, 2011

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:

Republican state legislator Loy Mauch Makes Top 50 Worst Politicians List
Republican Loy Mauch, a state representative for House district 26, made national news yesterday by being listed on the Top 50 Worst Politicians List.

Read news coverage below.

Arkansas Legislator Makes Top 50 List

By Max Brantley, Arkansas Times

* ARKANSAS LEGISLATOR MAKES TOP 50 LIST: State Rep. Loy Mauch has made a top 50 list, but he’s not likely to advertise it in his re-election campaign. He’s been “honored” by trutv as one of the 50 worst politicians in America. Why?

The newly elected state lawmaker says the Confederate flag is “a symbol of Jesus Christ above all else.” He’s also in the League of the South, a group that advocates for Southern secession. And until 2010, he was commander of James M. Keller Camp 648 of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, which held a conference in 2004 with a keynote address titled “Homage to John Wilkes Booth.”

Loy Mauch One of 50 Worst Politicians In America

By Blue Arkansas

…TruTV has a little piece up rating the 50 worst politicians in America, ever….there’s a nice little Arkansas angle on it-State Rep. Loy Mauch.

So once again, let us thank Arkansas Republicans for finding a way to embarrass Arkansas by virtue of the clan (pun intended) they let run with them.  I didn’t know some of that stuff about Mauch…I mean, a homage to the man that assassinated Abraham Lincoln?  Seriously?

DREAM Summit | January 16th

On Monday, January 16, 2012, concerned Arkansans will gather in our state’s capitol to commemorate Dr. Marin Luther King, Jr. Day with a statewide summit on the DREAM (Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors) Act.

Almost a half century after Dr. King’s historic “I Have a Dream” speech, the American dream continues to elude millions in this country, including youth – youth whose access to that dream is bound to their access to education. Inspired by Dr. King’s vision for equality and justice, Arkansas DREAMers and supporters have decided to convene the first Arkansas DREAM Act State Summit to discern collective goals for working to achieve the DREAM Act in our state and equal access to higher education for all Arkansas students.

Discussion themes to be addressed at the Summit will include: an analysis of the DREAM movement in Arkansas, prospects for the introduction of state DREAM Act in 2013, and opportunities for regional and state awareness-building. A full agenda for that day will be made available in early January, and will entail strategic planning sessions, regional action plan development for 2012 and 2013, visibility events in Little Rock tied to the Martin Luther King, Jr., holiday and Latino voter engagement training.

The Arkansas DREAM Act State Summitwill take place on January 16 from 10:00AM to 3:00PM at the Arkansas Education Association (AEA) building located at 1500 W. 4th Street in Little Rock.

We kindly ask that you RSVP no later than Tuesday, January 3, 2012 with Mireya Reith at director@arkansascoalition.org or 479-871-2168 or on our Facebook event page at http://www.facebook.com/#!/events/242459879149938/ so that the appropriate food and space arrangements can be made.  Lunch will be provided for all Summit participants who confirm their participation by our January 3rd deadline.

Sponsoring organizations for this event include the Arkansas Coalition for the DREAM (ARC4DREAM), Arkansas Natural DREAMers, Arkansas United Community Coalition (AUCC), Arkansas Public Policy Panel (Panel) and others.

We look forward to the prospects of seeing you in January, and having you accompany us as we demonstrate Arkansas’ commitment to the future of our state and all of our children,

David Whitaker's Christmas party Saturday, December 17, 2011

    • When
      Saturday, December 17, 2011
    • Time
      7:00pm until 12:00am
  • Description
It's time once again to welcome all of our kith and kin into our home to celebrate the joy of this blessed season. As always, we'll provide the meats, a few heavy hors d'oeuvres, as well as a selection of domestic beverages.

We ask that you bring no gifts, but rather you...r favorites holiday side dish or dessert. If you do not cook, a bag of ice is always good! And, if your beverage tastes run more toward hard spirits, you should bring those as well.

Once again, this is an open house, so you may come when you will and stay as long or short as you like. The management does, however, request that under no circumstances should you arrive before 7:00 pm (we may still be feeding dogs & cats, or still trying to get dressed for the party!).

Although this is not a public event, please feel free to bring along friends and family!

We really hope to see you all there!

Party for Uvalde Lindsey Thursday evening November 8, 2011

Because Representative Lindsey is such a wonderful Representative and we know he will be an excellent Senator, I want to also provide you with some written directions to his Christmas Event which is tomorrow night (December 8th--Thursday) from 5:30 to 7 p.m.  I believe that map I sent will work.

Here is a little more to add; Turn off 71 and go down Township. Turn right at Meeks Lumber Company--take the road on the left that goes towards Tontitown--Follow that road to where the car dealership is--now what Uvalde added-- Going north from the stop light in front of Sam's and the Honda Dealership, it is 2.6 miles to Clear Creek Boulevard, the road turns up the hill next door to the Blessings Country Club gate house.  Go up the hill for 7/10s of a mile to St. Andrews Drive (just past a stop sign for the golf cart crossing) and turn left.  The Bolding house is at the bottom of the hill.

Help--If you have Mary and and Eddie Yancey's email or phone number, please send it to me. Thanks.
