Jefferson-Jackson Day Dinner
Recently the Democratic Party of Arkansas announced that Governor Bryan Schweitzer of Montana will be the keynote speaker at the 2011 Jefferson-Jackson Dinner on Saturday, July 23 at the Verizon Arena in North Little Rock.
Like Governor Mike Beebe and Arkansas Democrats, Governor Schweitzer has focused on cutting taxes, creating jobs, and investing in education. A rancher, Governor Schweitzer is a dynamic and entertaining speaker who is sure to bring excitement as we move towards the 2012 elections. You may recall Governor Schweitzer’s fired up speech at the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver.
In addition to Governor Schweitzer, this year's Jefferson-Jackson Dinner will feature Governor Beebe, Arkansas’s senior U.S. Senator Mark Pryor, U.S. Representative Mike Ross and State Attorney General Dustin McDaniel. Also joining the evening's festivities will be Treasurer Martha Shoffner, Auditor Charlie Daniels, many Democratic members of the Arkansas legislature, and other elected officials and leaders.
The Jefferson-Jackson Dinner is the highlight of an annual, busy two days of Democratic events and meetings. The Association of County Officers will host the annual silent auction. We hope to see Democrats from all of Arkansas's 75 counties at the dinner and throughout the weekend.
Like last year, Washington County Democrats will purchase at least one table, maybe two. The cost is $100 per person and includes dinner and the event. If you wish to attend, your RSVP and payment is due to secure your spot by July 1st. Please respond to this e-mail if you wish to attend the JJ Dinner.
DPA Executive and State Committee Meeting

We expect to hear updates on redistricting, the 2012 Democratic National Convention Delegate Selection plan, the 2011 legislative session, and the 2012 election cycle. That afternoon, there will be time for individual auxiliaries to meet, and the Arkansas Democratic Black Caucus is planning something special.
